摘要: BACKGROUND Using potentially out-of-group blood components, like low titer A plasma and O whole blood, in the resuscitation of trauma patients is becoming increasingly popular. However, very little known whether donors' anti-A and/or anti-B titers change over time repeated measurements on same donor are required to ensure that each donation produces a product. METHODS The were measured 56 healthy adult volunteers (47 donors; nine center personnel) every 3 months for 12 consecutive using an automated solid phase analyzer. results expressed as log2 steps (e.g., 32 = 5 steps). RESULTS Minor variations average seen time; maximum individual SD group was 1.50 (IgG anti-A) or 1.00 (IgM anti-A, IgM, IgG anti-B). When SDs four from all combined appropriate, highest overall 0.47 anti-A. This value corresponds 95% confidence interval intraindividual variation this antibody's 0.96 steps. Thus, based one measurement, with step of, example, 6 would be expected range 7 course 1 year probability. CONCLUSION among adults stable at least year. suggests within not necessary if donations made longer intervals. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE Diagnostic study, level V.
