摘要: Abstract How the aggressive behaviour of larvae a damselfly species, Ischnura verticalis, changed when density and size combinations were manipulated, whether changes in feeding movement patterns accompanied investigated laboratory. During encounters struck with their mouthparts at same as themselves more frequently increased. However, proportionately fewer occurred between increased individuals present, but not involved encounter, within highest density. Density did affect used to initiate by larger or smaller larvae, both initiated All instars decreased responsiveness toward prey larval was paired successively each only two amount they consumed response manipulations. Larvae appeared reduce involvement increasing vigilance other larvae. The potential population consequences these alterations individual are discussed.
