摘要: As a result of low fertility and ageing populations, reconciling work family has become prominent topic in demographic research. Numerous macro-level studies on this have found that the cross-country correlation between total women’s labour force participation changed from negative to positive Western European economies (Ahn Mira, 2002; Engelhardt Prskawetz, 2004; Kogel, 2004). The micro-level relationship two roles mostly been be negative, although its magnitude varies depending country studied (Matysiak Vignoli, 2008). economic theory supply explains phenomenon by differences opportunity costs childbearing, such as income lost during non-participation period, but also future earnings foregone due non-accumulation depreciation human capital (Walker, 1995; Gustafsson, 2001). These are larger countries with rigid markets pronounced insider-outsider divide, those lack safety nets policies oriented towards supporting successful reconciliation motherhood paid (Esping-Andersen, 1999).
