摘要: A nonlinear model for describing the larval development of European corn borer, Ostrinia nubilalis (Hubner), was calibrated because previous work had revealed limitations degree-day model. The proposed by Logan et al. in 1976 used as a starting point. Experimental design based on destructive sampling order to record large number larvae, and variable temperatures fit with few experiments avoid artifacts caused constant temperatures. calibration method also proposed. normal distributions timing moult could be ranging between 9 42°C. validated under field conditions. Validation that at least 1 environmental variable, probably maize phenology, not taken into account temperature strong effect rate. Leaving out infestation where this maximum (infestation during early whorl stage), predicted 2nd 48-h accuracy, last an accuracy better than 5 d. However, predictions were only half day those obtained Nevertheless, helped determine precisely range validity concept. Further investigations are along 2 directions: testing other mathematical formulations relationship rate possible formulation, analyzing influence variables once has been account.
