摘要: Abstract This exploratory study assessed the value of fixed and dynamic variables for predicting client retention in therapeutic communities. Fixed included demographic background characteristics that had been used to predict outcomes previous research. Dynamic circumstances under which clients joined programs their motivations seeking treatment. The sample comprised 753 admissions 5 traditional communities substance abusers. Although both predicted retention, strongest predictors were two variables. One was exaddict interviewers' predictions whether would stay long enough program benefit from other spent most time with large groups people, as opposed spending small or alone, before using drugs. Program treatment need be taken into account along better understand improve types drug abuse programs.
