Posttraumatic stress, risky drinking, and prescription drug misuse in trauma-exposed college students

摘要: ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to examine whether coping motives mediate the relationship between posttraumatic stress (PTS) and both risky drinking prescription drug misuse in trauma-exposed college students. Data collected from 996 students were analyzed using structural equation modeling approach. Supporting hypotheses study, participants with high levels reported increased motivation drink alcohol cope distress, which then predicted higher misuse. These findings suggest that who PTS may also be at risk
