Interfacial segregation during oxidation in O2 at 1173 K of CeO2-coated Fe-20Cr alloys

摘要: The interfacial segregation of sulphur and carbon during the oxidation in 1 torr O2 at 1173 K Fe-20Cr alloy, which was either free Ce, alloyed with 0.078 wt.% or sputter-coated a 4 nm-thick CeO2 layer, studied using polyatomic SIMS. Oxidation periods were up to 19 hr. During oxidation, accumulated alloy-oxide interface region both uncoated coated alloys. amount segregated did not vary appreciably time, whereas increased time. total segregants similar for alloys, although scales formed on alloy maintained adhesion about 10 times thinner than those
