摘要: BACKGROUND Most preterm neonates are unable to achieve independent oral feeding and fed using tubes. Premature infant motor intervention (PIOMI) is effective in initiating early reducing hospital stays. OBJECTIVE This study aimed evaluate the effectiveness of PIOMI on performance, duration stay, weight neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). METHODS was a parallel randomized controlled trial conducted Egypt. Sixty born between 30 34 weeks gestation were randomly selected (30 group control group). The at NICU Sohag, Egypt, over 3 months from October December 2019. Two tools used: demographic data according gestational age, sex, weight, diagnosis, PIOMI. RESULTS Among group, full achieved significantly earlier (P = .03), milk leakage decreased .001), higher .018), stay lower .014) than that group. CONCLUSION improving neonates' increasing their weight. recommended training program for nurses about be conducted, along with parents use implementation policies conduct as part daily routine care.
