摘要: BACKGROUND Autophagy is believed to be important in tumorigenesis and tumor progression. The human beclin-1 gene, a key regulator of autophagy formation, located on chromosome 17q21, has been identified as the mammalian orthologue Atg6 (autophagy-related gene) may haploinsufficient suppressor gene. Loss expression or point mutation could serve mechanism loss function cancers. However, our recent study revealed that gene rare event papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). METHODS We investigated PTC. Tissue samples from 86 cases were used for present study. 57 with lymph node metastasis. tumor, normal tissue adjacent distant tissue, metastatic was examined immunohistochemistry. between also analyzed. RESULTS detected 88.4% (76/86) tumors 98.2% (56/57) nodes. In contrast, tissues nodes showed no very weak beclin-1. Beclin-1 significantly correlated metastasis CONCLUSIONS High PTC suggest neo-expression play role
