Teaching Art in the Multicultural Classroom: Six Position Statements

摘要: The demands of teaching art in the multicultural classroom are considerable and complex. In addition to more general concerns that confront all teachers any educational setting, there is a further set arises from very nature making learning as culturally socially based enterprises. We seek assist educators recognize respect, not only sociocultural diversity may be present their classrooms, but also design implement responsive curricula. do this by proposing six position statements which supported sociological anthropological literature, for consideration educators. Cultural Pluralist views Boas (1974), Bunzel (1929), Benedict (1934), opposition Straight Line Melting Pot Theory, espoused these positions.
