Intracellular calcium ions in affective disorders: a review and an hypothesis.

摘要: Recent advances in knowledge about calcium's role as an intracellular regulator promise to broaden our understanding of possible pathophysiologic mechanisms affective disorders. In this paper, we review the influence calcium on mood, dynamics ion, and interaction lithium with these actions. We then discuss similarities antagonists, a class drugs that influences action within cells, report preliminary findings their usefulness treating mania. Finally, hypothesize ways which alterations ion concentration may be associated mania depression, suggest methods studying hypothesis.
