摘要: The nearby Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 1068 was observed with speckle imaging techniques in the near-infrared H band (1.6 μm) 200-inch Hale Telescope on Palomar Mountain and K (2.2 10 m Keck I at W. M. Observatory. Images diffraction-limited or near–diffraction-limited resolutions of 0”.05–0”.1 were obtained used to search for structure nuclear region. Images nucleus reveal an extended region emission, accounting nearly 50% flux band. This extends pc either side unresolved point-source that is most 0”.02 1.4 size. Both point source newly imaged emission are very red, identical H-K colors corresponding a color temperature 800 K. While size be consistent grains thermal equilibrium source, not. It must consist has been reflected off dusty disk small raised transiently high temperatures by UV photons.
