摘要: Heatwaves are associated with significant health risks particularly among vulnerable groups. To minimize these risks, heat warning systems have been implemented. The question therefore is how effective in saving lives and reducing heat-related harm. We systematically searched reviewed 15 studies which examined this. Six asserted that fewer people died of excessive after the implementation systems. Demand for ambulance decreased following One study also estimated costs running at US$210,000 compared to US$468 million benefits 117 lives. remaining eight investigated people’s response taking appropriate actions against harms. Perceived threat dangers emerged as main factor related heeding warnings proper actions. However, barriers, such air-conditioners, were concern, poor. weight evidence suggests mortality and, potentially, morbidity. their effectiveness may be mediated by cognitive, emotive socio-demographic characteristics. More research urgently required into cost-effectiveness systems’ measures improving utilization services.
