摘要: The enzyme benzylamine oxidase of pig plasma has been purified and some the properties pure preparation have studied. purification procedure included several precipitations with ammonium sulphate separations proteins by column chromatography, first on DEAE-cellulose, followed DEAE-Sephadex lastly a hydroxyapatite column. Crystals were prepared from solutions adding sulphate. crystalline was homogeneous when studied starch-gel electrophoresis ultracentrifugation. molecular weight, as determined analytical ultracentrifuge, 195 000. copper content enzyme, radioactivation analysis, about four atoms Cu per molecule enzyme. Concentrated had pink colour; colour disappeared substrate (benzylamine) added under anaerobic conditions. amines which tested found to be oxidized were: benzylamine, histamine, mescaline 4-picolylamine. affinity for more than one hundred times that histamine.
