摘要: Allicin is an active ingredient of garlic that has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and antiprotozoal activity. However, the inhibitory effects allicin on Babesia parasites have not yet been examined. In present study, was tested as a potent inhibitor against in vitro growth bovine equine vivo microti mouse model. The bovis, bigemina, caballi, or Theileria equi inhibited by dose-dependent manner had IC50 values 818, 675, 470, 742 μM, respectively. Moreover, significantly (P < 0.001) invasion B. T. into host erythrocyte. Furthermore, mice treated with 30 mg/kg for 5 days 0.05) reduced parasitemia over period study. To further examine potential synergism diminazene aceturate, assays were performed vivo. Interestingly, combinations aceturate synergistically potentiated its These results indicate might be beneficial treatment babesiosis, particularly when used combination aceturate.
