摘要: As a contribution to the ongoing international revision of Devonian/Carboniferous boundary, we present bed-by-bed study Reigern Quarry in northern Sauerland (Rhenish Massif, Germany), which is famous as an uppermost Famennian ammonoid locality. Currently exposed are ca. 2.5 m strongly cyclic Wocklum Limestone, conformably overlain, but with long hiatus (topmost upper Tournaisian), by laminated radiolarites and thin metabentonite Lower Carboniferous Hardt Formation. The nodular limestones pelagic mud-wackestones some sporadic occurrences cephalopod float-rudstones. part Limestone falls successive Bispathodus ultimus Siphonodella (Eosiphonodella) praesulcata (s.l.) zones. It yielded two new species left open nomenclature, Neopolygnathus communis aff. dentatus possibly stratigraphically relevant corradinii ssp. nov. range Palmatolepis gracilis semisigmoidalis significantly expanded. conodont faunas mostly belong variants Palmatolepis-Bispathodus biofacies; lower succession, there biofacies that previously has not been recorded from deeper-water, pre-Hangenberg Crisis strata. interpreted palaeoecological generalist variably blossomed outer or inner shelf facies after other groups declined. loose comprise almost 30 taxa fall Wocklumian Kalloclymenia subarmata Muessenbiaergia bisulcata zones (Upper Devonian = UD VI-A1/A2), agrees previous ammonoid-conodont correlations.
