Mechanical, vibrational, and dynamical properties of amorphous systems near jamming

摘要: Amorphous systems undergo the jamming transition when density increases, temperature drops, or external shear stress decreases, as described by phase diagram which was proposed to unify different processes such glass transition, random close packing, and yielding under stress. At zero stress, occurs at a critical Point J. In this paper, we review recent studies of material properties marginally jammed solids glassy dynamics in vicinity As only singular point diagram, J exhibits special criticality both mechanical vibrational quantities. Dynamics approaching show scalings, suggesting that molecular colloidal are equivalent hard sphere limit. All these shed light on long-standing puzzles unusual amorphous solids.
