Group G streptococcus septic arthritis and osteomyelitis: report and literature review.

摘要: Beta hemolytic streptococcus group G is increasingly being recognized as a cause of serious infections. We describe patient with septic arthritis the right knee and osteomyelitis proximal tibia. Clinical details 46 patients including 13 infected prosthetic joints reported in literature were reviewed: 42% had multiple joint involvement. Almost all underlying conditions. one-half treated antibiotics alone without therapeutic drainage procedures. Patients did well removal prosthesis. There have been 11 cases 3 concomitant arthritis.
