摘要: Mercury is a ubiquitous environmental contaminant known to accumulate in, and negatively affect, fish-eating oceanic bird species, recently demonstrated impact some terrestrial songbirds comparable extent. It can bioaccumulate concentrations of >1 μg/g in tissues prey organisms such as fish insects. At high enough concentrations, exposure mercury lethal birds. However, exposures are usually far below the established by dosing studies.
