摘要: A light test investigation was conducted to evaluate an infrared (IR) imaging technique visualize off-surface flow phenomena. single-engine, general-aviation airplane equipped with IR system that viewed the region around left wingtip. Vortical at wingtip seeded surfur hexafluoride, a gas strong absorbing and emitting characteristics. Different terrain sky backgrounds were evaluated for their effect on images of vortical flow. The best obtained clear background. results indicate visualization compliments existing smoke generator methods visualization.
