摘要: Carcinoids are relatively uncommon tumors, which may occur anywhere along the gastrointestinal tract. The appendiceal carcinoid is in autopsy series most prevalent, but frequently overlooked clinically unless routinely searched for at appendectomy. In stomach and rectum carcinoids often present as simple benign polypous lesions, fortuitously discovered during endoscopy, while rare colon generally a large, bulky tumor time of diagnosis. mid-gut located terminal ileum tends to prevail clinical due its common association with syndrome.
