摘要: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the largest killer of Americans. Approximately every 25 s, an American will have a coronary event, and approximately minute, someone die one [1]. In 2010, estimated 785,000 Americans myocardial infarction, ∼470,000 recurrent infarction. An additional 195,000 silent first infarctions occur each year. Catheter-based, diagnostic invasive X-ray angiography remains clinical “gold standard” for diagnosis significant (≥50% diameter stenosis) CAD with over million catheter-based angiograms performed annually in USA higher volume Europe. Although numerous noninvasive tests are available to help discriminate among those without angiographic disease, 35% patients referred their initial elective found no stenosis. Even CAD, these individuals remain exposed cost, inconvenience, potential morbidity (vascular complications, exposure both ionizing radiation iodinated contrast) angiography.
