摘要: An experimental method for simultaneously measuring the velocity fields on air and water side of unsteady breaking waves is presented. The includes a novel technique seeding flow such that can be resolved in absence wind. Low density particles have large Stokes drag ability to respond high-frequency fluctuations are used seed flow. Multi-camera, multi-laser particle image velocimetry setups applied small-scale waves, yielding fully time-resolved fields. surface tension fluid altered controlled form spilling waves. Results vorticity representative breakers, which show shedding an air-side vortex well-documented generation water-side vorticity, presented discussed.
