Social isolation, loneliness and health in old age: a scoping review.

摘要: The health and well-being consequences of social isolation loneliness in old age are increasingly being recognised. purpose this scoping review was to take stock the available evidence highlight gaps areas for future research. We searched nine databases empirical papers investigating impact and/or on a range outcomes age. Our search, conducted between July September 2013 yielded 11,736 articles, which 128 items from 15 countries were included review. Papers reviewed, with focus definitions measurements two concepts, associations causal mechanisms, differences across population groups interventions. is largely US-focused, more researched than isolation.
