摘要: Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) resistant to the nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor nevirapine and nucleoside analogue zidovudine was transmitted from a homosexual man his sex partner. The source patient had commenced combination therapy 2.5 years prior partner's primary HIV infection. He received both therapies for 7 months, then discontinued treatment, continuing receive monotherapy further 16 months. ceased 6 months before time of seroconversion. Analysis major minor isolates obtained patients soon after onset recipient's infection illness confirmed that an HIV-1 variant mutant at codons 70, 98, 181 viral transmitted. This is first documented case transmission two antiretroviral compounds.
