摘要: The high flame-retardant loading required for ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer blends with polyethylene (EVA-PE) employed insulation and sheathing of electric cables represents a significant limitation in processability final mechanical properties. In this work, melamine triazine (TRZ) modified bentonite clay have been investigated combination aluminum trihydroxide (ATH) the production EVA-PE composites excellent fire safety improved Optimized formulations only 120 parts per hundred resin (phr) ATH can achieve self-extinguishing behavior according to UL94 classification (V0 rating), as well reduced combustion kinetics smoke production. Mechanical property evaluation shows stiffness elongation at break respect commonly EVA-PE/ATH composites. reduction filler content also provides cost reductions. results presented here allow viable halogen-free strategy preparation performing
