[11C] Methylation on a C18 Sep-Pak cartridge: A convenient way to produce [N-methyl-11C] choline

摘要: [N-Methyl-11C]choline has been simply and efficiently labelled at room temperature by solid supported [11C]methylation of 2-dimethylaminoethanol on a commercial C18 Sep-Pak Light cartridge. The product was retained cation exchange resin (Sep-Pak Plus Accell CM) washed with ethanol water to remove any excess precursor. Then [N-methyl-11C]choline desorbed from the cartridge elution saline, passed through 0·2 μm sterile filter collected in vial. Overall, total synthesis time 12 min end bombardment (EOB). radiochemical yield [11C]CO2, decay corrected (EOB) 87% purity greater than 99%. Very conveniently, automated apparatus employed is very simple modification system routinely used for L-[S-methyl-11C]methionine. Copyright © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
