摘要: AIMS: The aim of this study was to analyse the effects nasal obliteration with regards linear dimensions dissected hemimandibles a homogeneous sample young rats. METHODS: 68 pure breed male Sprague-Dawley rats, aged four weeks, were divided into groups 17: two control and test groups. first group sacrificed at beginning observation period other one end. groups, which had right nostril occluded by silicon material while left occluded, after eight twelve weeks. After isolating hemi-mandibles, vertical sagittal measurements taken; comparison then made between experimental are articular surface condyle-neck incisor (SARCIN), condyle-mental foramen (SARFORO), condyle-margo incisalis (SARMI), condyle-surface mesial molar (SARSMM). superior condyle surface-base (SCOSUB), molar-base (SUMESM), maximum inferior arched concavity-base, (XCOARIB), sigmoid notch concavity-base (XCOINSB). RESULTS: showed an increase in values when compared controls. CONCLUSION: An altered respiration is able influence patterns facial growth particular induce mandible.
