摘要: Mesozoic sediments are source rocks for nearly half the world’s hydrocarbon reserves. Hence, there is great interest in oil industry to know trap and sub-trappean sediment thickness their extent covered regions of Jamnagar study area. The microbial prospecting method applied sub-basin, Gujarat evaluating prospects exploration by investigating anomalous abundance n-pentane- n-hexane-oxidizing bacteria this A total 150 near-surface soil samples were collected evaluation resource potential basin. In study, bacterial counts n-pentane-utilizing range between 1.09 × 102 9.89 105 cfu/g n-hexane-utilizing 9.29 cfu/g. adsorbed gases consisting ethane plus hydrocarbons (ΣC2+) 1–977 ppb n-pentane (nC5) 1–23 ppb. integrated geomicrobial gas studies showed zones nearby Khandera, Haripur, Laloi areas which could probably aid assess true Integrated geophysical have shown that sub-basin Saurashtra has significant below Deccan Traps can be considered future exploration.
