摘要: Abstract 1. RNA from wing epidermis of the cecropia silkmoth stimulated amino acid incorporation in ribosomal systems prepared Escherichia coli . Most stimulatory activity was found a small fraction total which rapidly labeled and extracted with phenol sodium dodecyl sulfate at 45°. 2. A comparison effects those f2 viral E. system showed differences suggest that part, least, stimulation obtained may be due to “non-template” mechanism. While it is still possible template responsible for much stimulation, results indicate assay bacterial ribosomes cannot assumed give quantitative measure animal messenger RNA. 3. different stages early development assayed. There appear two phases accumulation RNA: during first days between 7 9, decreasing 3–5. Neither period coincided one rising most but they do correlate other biochemical morphological changes. Following integumental injury, enhances synthesis, there no appreciable change level The appears therefore have developmental significance and, taken together its properties, this strongly suggests
