摘要: Abstract A rare congenital amomaly, fistulas of the lip, is discussed. brief comment on general considerations and probable etiologic factors offered, fered, various surgical techniques for correction are mentioned. Six cases presented described, all involving members same family. The mother, who evidenced bilateral lower had nine living off-spring—five girls four boys. Of these, daughters one son exhibited malformation in varying degrees severity. total six out eleven this family afflicted. Two also additional concurrent defects. 3-year-old girl a wide palatal cleft which been advised, her 4-year-old sister revealed an opaque scarified area soft appered to be result earlier closure, although mother professed no knowledge such correction. Also evident patient was high frenulum attachment severely limited normal mobility tongue. In were only case there asymmctrical positioning defect. depth sinuses, as measured by calibrated probe, ranged from 3 7 mm.
