摘要: We sampled the communities of decapod crustaceans inhabiting depth zone between 3 and 871 m off Catalan coast (North-West Mediterranean) from June 1981 to 1983. The 185 samples comprised 90 species differing widely in their distributions. Multivariate analysis revealed four distinct faunistic assemblages, (1) littoral over sandy bottoms, (2) shelf terrigenous muds, (3) upper-slope communitics, (4) lower-slope or bathyal communities. brachyuran crab Liocarcinus depurator is most abundant assemblage, although L. vernalis dominates shallow bottoms shelf. dominant assemblage are nektobenthic (Solenocera membranacea, Plesionika heterocarpus, Processa canaliculata), pelagic (Pasiphaea sivado, Sergestes arcticus), benthic (Macropipus tuberculatus, Munida intermedia, Nephrops norvegicus). Aristeus antennatus comprise biomass community, which supports a greater diversity than other assemblages. main assemblages appear be related different hydrological characteristics, extent seasonal fluctuations, changes sediment structure associated with steepness bottom.
