摘要: The role of surface properties (chemical and structural) for the interaction between biomaterials tissue is not yet understood. In present study, implants made titanium, zirconium (transition metals with oxides) gold (metallic surface) were inserted into rabbit tibia. Light microscopic (LM) morphometry showed that after 1 6 mo had less amount bone within threads a lower degree bone-implant contact than titanium implants, which did differ from each other. These quantitative differences supported by LM ultrastructural observations interface. in addition demonstrated layer non-collagenous amorphous material located implant calcified was appreciably thicker around implants. factors potentially responsible observed morphological different surfaces are discussed.
