摘要: Rationale and Objectives. To demonstrate the range of gains losses that radiologists might experience from independent double reading in screening mammography. Methods. From a national random sample radiologists, authors formed 131 pairs. For each radiologist, analyzed increase relative to his or her individual true-positive rate (TPR) false-positive (FPR), number additional cancers detected, change negative biopsy would result after pairing. Results. The average radiologist can expect an 8%–14% gain TPR 4%–10% FPR with some increased small concomitant FPR. Other however, realized large increases Adding more experienced did not necessarily improve less experience. Conclusion. Radiologists complementary noncomplementary pairs for reading. Use this procedure must be decided on basis.
