Investigation of palpable breast tumours. Patient flow and quality assessment of the tripple diagnostic procedure

摘要: The evaluation of patients with a palpable breast lump includes physical examination, mammography, and fine needle aspiration cytology. Combined use these diagnostic procedures (triple diagnostic) gives nearly the same degree accuracy as excisional biopsy sensitivity 97-99% in carcinomas. Ultrasonography is valuable adjunct when mammography normal or nonconclusive should be primary imaging modality under 35 years age benign findings on examination. Ongoing quality assessment ultrasonography mandatory, since modalities play central role lumps breast. There are considerable practical problems associated medical audit triple procedure.
