摘要: In this work, the behavior of a palm fruit bunch press shaft is investigated, which has presented early failure several times, not reaching its expected lifetime. The study developed allows determining mode by using finite element method (FEM). model, was estimate load produced bunches over worm screw and transferred to shaft. Geometrical analysis shape helps determine mode. stress strain fields are obtained critical points design, allowing suggesting forms correct damage in future. Moreover, after short time operation, structure wear; hexagonal fixed welding procedure. Is showed metallographic hardness results on surface subsurface level affected area for fractographic analysis. This compared with raw steel SAE AISI 4340 under tempered like original condition. Introduction. Colombia fourth oil producer world, industry represents 4.2% farming volume half million hectare country[1], process, impregnated sterilization cycle removal operation. recovery until 2.11% rate extraction[2], strategy saving take pass them an additional pressing stage, equipment constituted one motor, gear reducer speed reduction torque increasing, coupling unit, unique body press, that contains drilled cage, three helical sections rising diameter, principal support distribute force represented crush bunches[3]. A local manufacturer new model applying variation shaft, bring profile transversal section, premature service, giving opportunity FEM type review geometry his stresses strains, while tests applied purpose value real 3D configuration figure 1.
