摘要: The incidence of epilepsy and all unprovoked seizures was determined for residents Rochester, Minnesota U.S.A. from 1935 through 1984. Age-adjusted 44 per 100,000 person-years. Incidence in males significantly higher than females high the first year life but highest persons aged > or = 75 years. Sixty percent new cases had manifested by partial seizures, two thirds no clearly identified antecedent. Cerebrovascular disease most commonly antecedent, accounting 11% cases. Neurologic deficits birth, mental retardation and/or cerebral palsy, observed 8% cases, next frequently preexisting condition. cumulative age 74 years 3.1%. age-adjusted 61 Age- gender-specific trends were similar to those epilepsy, a proportion unknown etiology characterized generalized onset seizures. 4.1% With time, decreased children increased elderly.
