Quality of life as patient-reported outcomes: principles of assessment.

摘要: Assessing quality of life (QoL) as a patient-reported outcome in adult psychiatry poses challenges terms concepts, methods, and applications research practice. This review will outline conceptually the construct QoL, its dimensionality, representation across patient groups. Methodological are examined, along with principles QoL instrument development testing, well cultures. Application instruments epidemiological, clinical health economics, services is reviewed based on pertinent literature. Validated measures for depression, psychosis, anxiety disorders available psychiatry, increasingly used research. Still, targeted lacking many mental conditions only rarely tools applied practice context. Progress has been made that now ready implementation. The information to be gained valuable identifying needs benefits treatment.
