摘要: Endothelin-1 (ET-1), the first member of newly discovered mammalian endothelin family biologically active peptides, was originally identified as a 21 residue potent vasoconstrictor peptide in vascular endothelial cells. However, it has since been demonstrated to possess wide variety pharmacological activities tissues both within and outside cardiovascular system, peptides with striking similarity ET-1 have found be major toxic component snake venom. Moreover, recent studies suggested that mammals including humans produce three distinct members this family, ET-1, ET-2 ET-3, which may different profiles biological activity, act on subtypes receptor.
