摘要: Abstract Shape-casting of the wrought grades aluminum alloys is a relatively new concept in order to take advantage high strength as compared cast alloys. It almost impossible, however, defect-free components from using conventional solidification process and there remains need for novel methods enable integrated castings with these Dendritic morphology primary phase tendency hot tearing are main reasons why some (especially grades) not castable processes. A new, innovative called Controlled Diffusion Solidification (CDS), has been developed overcome challenges faced when attempting such CDS involves diluting low temperature concentrated liquid alloy given amount higher same-base solvent. Mixing metals which different their mass, composition can result complex condition thermal, solute density gradients resultant mixture, causing it solidify non-dendritic phase. Unlike most common semi-solid processes, simple does require heavy investment equipment. To facilitate investigation, usually divided into three discrete stages mixing, nucleation growth. Since its development 2003, few attempts have directed toward identifying factors influencing understanding underlying mechanisms process. This review encompasses established knowledge process, together those areas that still unknown further research.
