摘要: Abstract Reflectance spectra (2.5 to 13.5 μm) of 60 powdered meteorite samples representing 50 different meteorites are presented for comparison with spectral measurements asteroids. Powdered were used as analogues asteroidal regoliths. These show that most have undergone alteration, even if only exposed water vapor in the air, and many been contaminated by volatile hydrocarbons characterized absorption bands near 3.45 μm. In contrast, primary macromolecular do not display 3.45-μm bands, or, fact, any other detectable features these reflectance spectra. However, a wide variety can be their identification. include residual reststrahlen features, which occur peaks, due overtone/combination tone troughs, Christiansen feature, also occurs trough reflectance. The prominent peaks those olivine pyroxene, wavelength position is sensitive Mg/Fe ratio. Olivine pyroxene strong shift ratio, calcite identified some carbonaceous chondrites from such bands. independently help determine mineralogy type, but using entire spectrum digital search library preferred successfull effect vacuum environment should relatively small compared found previous work granites, confident interpretation asteroids will require better understanding effects space on mixing model minerals.
