摘要: Abstract The P2X receptors are oligomeric ligand-gated ion channels operated by extracellular ATP. Here we report the genomic and cDNA sequence of mouse P2X5 subunit, as well its organization, chromosomal localization expression in select tissues. gene spans approximately 13 kb DNA contains thirteen exons. encodes a 455 amino acid protein with 95% identity to rat subunit. subunit 2.6 mRNA that was found number tissues, highest levels detected heart kidney. Results from rapid amplification ends (RACE) PCR suggest there multiple transcriptional start sites located 30–70 bp upstream codon. localized band B5 on Chromosome 11 using fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH), region has high degree synteny human 17. These results provide initial information useful for further investigation into functional role(s) physiological processes.
