摘要: We have characterized an aberrant allele of a variably spliced Drosophila tropomyosin gene. The was recovered from the flightless Ifm(3)3 strain, which has been shown to structurally and functionally abnormal indirect flight muscles. transcribed portion mutant gene is interrupted by 8,8 kb insertion middle repetitive DNA having structure typical copia-like mobile elements. positioned so as interrupt exon sequence in one splicing mode and, simultaneously, intron alternate mode. As consequence fails direct synthesis muscle-specific isoform, but remains capable specifying second accumulates nonfibrillar
