摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter provides an overview of channel electron-multiplier plates in X-ray image intensification. Channel have provided the means achieving a very high electron gain small volume and would thus appear to be ideal for use intensifiers. The conventional type intensifier, which needs large diameter cover areas interest human body, achieves its by optically demagnifying accelerating electrons potential difference about 25 kV. study investigates possibility making proximity focused intensifier using plate provide gain. tube has magnification unity can viewed directly without need auxiliary viewing systems. size is limited 5" ease manufacture research laboratory although there no fundamental limitation size. describes properties used, then discusses construction performance requirements. results measurements on some tubes are given, together with photographs images produced.
