摘要: Abstract Objective The purpose of this study was to describe ultrasound (US) changes in muscle thickness produced during automatic activation the transversus abdominis (TrAb), internal oblique (IO), external (EO), and rectus (RA), as well cross-sectional area (CSA) lumbar multifidus (LM), after 1 year Pilates practice. Methods A 1-year follow-up case series with a convenience sample 17 participants performed. Indeed, TrAb, IO, EO, RA thickness, LM CSA tests were measured by US scanning before practice twice per week. Furthermore, quality life using 36-Item Short Form Health Survey measurement comparisons who practiced exercises other than described. Results Statistically significant observed for reduction active straight leg raise test (P = .007). Participants presented larger IO which statistically .05). direct moderate correlation (r 0.562, P .019) between TrAb follow-up. Conclusions Long-term may reduce raise. increases exercise types conjunction Pilates. Despite positive did not seem be modified long-term
