摘要: Drainage of cerebrospinal fluid by means external lumbar drainage (ELD) is controversial in the adult population with traumatic brain injury. We report our experience ELD treatment post-traumatic high intracranial pressure (ICP) and results long-term follow-up these patients. undertook clinical evaluation 30 patients injury ICP treated second-tier measures or first-tier if were contraindicated. The study involved a retrospective review collected data. Outcome at intensive care unit discharge three to five years after evaluated Glasgow Scale. mean age was 34.9 +/- 12.5 25 (83%) male. median (interquartile range) Coma score 8 (7 10). before one hour placement 33.7 9.0 4.8 mmHg respectively, decrease 21.2 8.3 (P < 0.0001). placed 8.6 3.9 days. Cerebrospinal maintained for 6.6 3.5 Four (13%) required replacement patient developed infection (3%). No pupillary changes noted within 48 hours placement. Long-term outcome favourable (good recovery moderate disability) 62% studied. use resulted marked These presented good cases evaluation. Few complications related noted.
