摘要: Abstract Background Surgical coaching is an emerging concept of education and collaboration to improve surgical performance. in low-resource settings remains a challenge because confounding barriers access, resources, sustainability. No formal assessments as means quality low- or middle-income countries (LMICs) exist. The purpose this review explore if could serve effective method fostering continued advancement skills settings. Methods We conducted systematic literature search July 2018. Included studies were peer-reviewed met preestablished study criteria. Studies must have assessed coaching, specifically defined establish continuous professional growth trainees practicing surgeons. Results Of 2189 articles, 175 selected for full-text analysis, 23 inclusion criteria 13 these articles evaluated trainees, 10 surgeons established careers. 18 the discussed skill acquisition, 4 which nontechnical alone, 14 technical both skills.
