摘要: Abstract To interrogate whether altered function of the hippocampal-mPFC circuit underlies deficit in fear extinction recall rats subjected to single-prolonged stress (SPS), changes brain region-specific metabolic rate were measured male (control and SPS treated). Brain region rates quantified using uptake 14C-2-deoxyglucose (14C-2DG) during memory formation, recall. Control had similar regional activities at baseline. During recall, 14C-2DG decreased hippocampal regions control rats, but not rats. also exhibited a significant deficiency replicating previously reported finding. Reduced activity animals may reflect reduction overgeneralization, thereby enabling discrimination between distinct contexts. In contrast, persistent levels SPS-exposed dysfunctional persistence overgeneralization. Future studies females can test gender-specificity these effects, with appropriate attention luteal dependent effects on learning. Detailed knowledge underlying stress-induced deficits help identify therapeutic targets PTSD.
