摘要: Abstract Objective To present an up-to-date literature review of osteoporosis in spinal cord injury (SCI) patients, view the seriousness this complication (with a high risk fractures) and complexity its diagnosis, evaluation treatment. Methods A Medline search with following keywords: immobilization osteoporosis, injury, bone loss, dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), bisphosphonate. Results Our analysis noted metabolism imbalance SCI accelerated early resorption (particularly during first 6 months post-injury). Although constitutes “gold standard” diagnostic method, decrease mineral density only becomes significant 12 months after injury. Bisphosphonate therapy has proven efficacy. Despite frequent use various physical therapies, these methods have not been found to be effective. Conclusion our did identify any guidelines on strategy for diagnosing treating several findings provide guidance procedures diagnosis preventive
