摘要: Abstract The share of the renewable energy sources (RES) in global electricity market is substantially increasing as a result commitment many countries to increase contribution RES their mix. However, integration grid increases complexity management due variability and intermittent nature these sources. Energy storage solutions such batteries offer either short-term that not sufficient or longer period significantly expensive. This paper introduces an approach which can be applied case power desalinated water generation. based on mathematical optimization model accounts for random variations demands supply. allows using desalination plants deferrable load mitigate supply and/or demands. A linear programming developed show applicability this idea its effectiveness reducing impact uncertainty environment. solved real world Saudi Arabia. optimal solution while minimizing total costs generating power.
